  • Jaguar Communications – John Todd: Tell the Council what is at BES

  • Burke Management – Deidra Burke: Talk about possibilities for BES. You could look at their website: burkemanagement.com

  • Freeborn County Co-Op - Kevin Kiser: Recycling dumpster

  • Email from Gene Gerhart

  • Phone call from New Beginnings in Christ would be interested in renting a room in BES for their church.

City Engineer Report

  • Pond Project

  • Repairs on City Truck

  • Raughn on vacation – assign mowing/reading lift station & well house/opening park bathrooms

  • Carpet roll was dumped at brush site 5/31

  • Cold Mix was put in holes around town. Thank you to Gene for assisting for the day in rolling it in.

Police Report

  • Monthly Report

  • Bill for safety vest – Bureau of Justice Assistance

Old Business

  • Red Rock Revival – looking for golf cart drivers contact 440-3615 Ken Petzold

  • Closing of Latham St west end/Hwy 56-we already have Mower County’s approval

  • We do not have the Deeds to the vacant lots in the Meier Addition yet, Mower County sent them back to the State to make some corrections on them

  • Insurance – met with First American Insurance updated land descriptions on city’s policy. Talked with LMC regarding pond repairs (email should be included) not a claim.

  • BES – I included entire Zoning Ordinance

  • Hazardous Properties:

  • * 105 Cedar St. waiting period ended 5/29.  Council to proceed?

  • *307 SE Fremont St.  Council to proceed?

  • *Vista Village #201,206,212,217,205,204.  Council to proceed?

  • 304 E. Main St.  Council to proceed?

  • FYI: Old computer tower will be cleaned up this week by S&M Controls.  Getting it ready for PW or Police dept.

New Business

  • Request for cash payout for vacation/comp time, next anniversary date of employment is July 1st, starting 9th year.

  • Remind people to cover up their trailers/pickup beds when hauling brush out to the brush site.  We are having too many incidents of brush/larger limbs falling off in the middle of the township roads.

  • Set up date to go over Emergency Operation Plan: Godbout, Grunewald, Oakland, Booms.  Red Cross Rep and Fire Dept Rep should be invited.

  • Liquor License Renewal – original’s in Mayor Packet

  • Discussions with School Board regarding auction items/lunchroom tables, folding chairs, gym items, playground equipment, lawn mower, phone system School Board meeting:  June 8th-Work Session@7pm@HHS and June 13th-Meeting@7pm@HHS

  • Old street signs-cost of new signs $2300/120(#of signs we replaced) =$20 We could sell them at Farmers Market/FD Breakfast/City Hall

  • Boulevard trees on Fremont St.

  • Resolution 2016-6 Library Donation

  • Bank CD – Use for projects or renew CD for another year.

  • FYI: Filing affidavits for candidacy for November general election Aug 2- Aug 16.  Posting/Publication will go out mid-July

  • FYI: State Primary Election Aug 9.

  • Letter from Mower County regarding Tax Abatement proposal for housing
